Peskov says only nuclear weapons protect the world from global war

Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov has said only nuclear weapons can protect the world from global wars.

According to him, global security has been eroded in the modern era, and nuclear deterrence is now the only remaining mechanism preventing a global conflict.

“Global security today has been eroded. In essence, there is nothing left in the world except nuclear deterrence, and it is the only thing that protects the world from global war,” Peskov said at the 12th Primakov Readings international expert forum.
