Xiaomi ends support for popular smartphone and tablet models

Xiaomi has officially ended support for several popular smartphone and tablet models. The list for July includes the Xiaomi 12, Xiaomi 12 Pro, Xiaomi 12S Ultra, Poco X5 5G, Poco X5 Pro 5G, Redmi Note 12T Pro, Redmi K60E, Redmi 10 5G, as well as the Xiaomi Pad 6 and Pad 6 Pro tablets.

According to media reports, many of these models remain in demand in various markets, including Russia, China, and Indonesia. For example, the Xiaomi 12 series was introduced in late 2021 and went on sale in spring 2022, meaning many users still actively use these devices.

Receiving an End-of-Life (EOL) status means that the devices will no longer receive operating system updates, bug fixes, or security updates. Although the smartphones will continue to function, over time they may become less secure and less compatible with newer versions of applications.

The company has stated that it intends to provide software support for its devices for at least four years from the date of release. However, the company officially introduced this commitment only in 2025, meaning smartphones released earlier received shorter software support periods.
