What has the new PM promised Britons?

The government of new UK Prime Minister Andy Burnham will cut taxes on electricity bills, Downing Street said, according to Reuters, adding that the prime minister is seeking to deliver on ‌his promises to ease a cost-of-living crisis, improve lives and end a decade of political instability.

“Westminster has not been working for people for too long, with families struggling with ⁠the ​cost of living,” Burnham said. “That ​needs to change.”

Burnham has already appointed his ministers, forming the country’s new government.
