Lavrov and Rubio meet in Manila for talks

A meeting between Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and US Secretary of State Marco Rubio has begun in Manila, the capital of the Philippines.

Speaking ahead of the talks, Lavrov said he plans to seek clarification from his US counterpart on the White House’s position regarding prospects for resolving the conflict in Ukraine.

Rubio, in turn, confirmed that he also intends to discuss the Ukraine issue with Russia’s foreign minister.
