EU to provide Ukraine with new €6.1B defense funding package

The European Union has approved Ukraine’s next defense spending envelope of €6.1 billion for defense procurement as part of the bloc’s €90 billion loan program, Euronews writes.

European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen said in the statement the funding aims to supply Kyiv with air and missile defense systems, missiles, ammunition and radars.

“Europe stands with Ukraine and we will deliver what it needs, when it needs it,” von der Leyen stated.
