Kremlin hopes Armenia’s political processes will be lawful

Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov has expressed hope that all domestic political processes in Armenia will be conducted in accordance with the law, RIA Novosti reports.

Earlier, Nikol Pashinyan said opposition forces in Armenia were seeking the deployment of CSTO peacekeepers in the country, but that this would not happen. He made the remarks in parliament several hours after the arrest of former President and Armenia Alliance leader Robert Kocharyan.

“I would not want to comment on Armenia’s domestic political developments at this point. Very complicated processes are underway there. I can only express hope that everything that is happening will be carried out in strict compliance with the law, and that the rights of all participants in the political processes in the republic will be respected,” Peskov said.
