EAEU draws significant interest from many countries, including China, Overchuk says

The Eurasian Economic Union is attracting significant interest from many countries, including China and members of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), Russia’s Deputy PM Alexey Overchuk said, according to RIA Novosti.

“The EAEU is beginning to be viewed in a completely new light around the world. We see interest from the United Nations. We see interest from ASEAN member states. We see interest from the People’s Republic of China. We are holding talks with India. We have signed an agreement with Indonesia, which has the largest economy in Southeast Asia,” Overchuk said.

According to Overchuk, this demonstrates the EAEU’s commitment to the peaceful development of Eurasia.

“And all of this proves that we are genuinely striving to improve the quality of life of the people of Eurasia — and, of course, in Russia as well,” he said.

According to him, the sales market of the EAEU member states consists of approximately 2.5 billion people.
