
Erdogan assured Putin that Turkey is ready to do everything for a peaceful resolution of the Ukrainian conflict
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan told Russian leader Vladimir Putin during a meeting in Bishkek that his country is ready to do everything possible to achieve a peaceful resolution of the conflict in Ukraine.
“Turkey is committed to the peaceful resolution of conflicts in the region. Both we and Mr. Putin expect the war between Russia and Ukraine to end peacefully as soon as possible. We want the peace process between Russia and Ukraine to begin as soon as possible, and for peace to reign,” Erdoğan said upon his return from Kyrgyzstan.
He added that Putin is not happy about the conflict. “Is Putin happy about this? No. He also expects it to end peacefully as soon as possible. We have made it clear to Mr. Putin that we are ready to do everything possible for peace. We are ready to make every effort to achieve this goal,” Erdoğan said.
