Foreign Ministers of Saudi Arabia and Iran discuss regional escalation

The Foreign Ministers of Saudi Arabia and Iran, Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud and Abbas Araghchi, held a phone call to discuss the latest developments in the region, TASS reports.

"During the conversation, the recent escalation in the region was discussed, as well as the measures being taken in response," the statement said.

Araghchi posted on his Telegram channel that during the conversation, he expressed concern over the escalation, emphasizing that relying on military methods and ignoring political solutions "will exacerbate the current situation." He added that Iran is ready to help establish a dialogue between Saudi Arabia and Yemen to achieve a political resolution to the crisis.

On October 10, the Kingdom's General Authority of Civil Aviation reported that an attack on the Riyadh airport left at least 12 people dead and another 309 injured. On October 11, it reported a new attack that resulted in additional casualties. On the same day, the Ansar Allah movement admitted to carrying out "four large-scale operations using ballistic and cruise missiles, as well as drones" within a 24-hour period.
