Armenia is looking for lobbyists to contact British defense companies, Intelligence Online, known for its close ties with French intelligence services, reports.
As noted, with the aim of finding the right people, the Armenian government turned to the Sanctuary Counsel advisory firm. According to the author of the article, the Armenian request has already received an appropriate response. In particular, Sanctuary Counsel has appointed former British Prime Minister David Cameron’s Defense Adviser, Gen. Richard Dannatt, “responsible for the Yerevan case”.
Reporter, in turn, noted that Armenia has been actively seeking friendship in the West in the wake of its defeat in a short-term military conflict with Azerbaijan, as a result of which Nagorno-Karabakh came under the control of Baku. As noted, Yerevan blames Moscow for its military failure.
As mentioned in the article, Armenia and Azerbaijan are now engaged in the border delimitation process. The latter led to large-scale protests by residents of the border settlements of Armenia. “It is noteworthy that the authorities’ attempts to suppress the demonstrations have not been successful yet. The fact is that the military is actively siding with the protesters,” reads the article.
