Voters in the U.S. will go to the polls on Nov. 5 to elect the country’s next president.
On average, Democratic candidate Kamala Harris is leading in national polls. According to the BBC’s reports, Harris enjoys the support of 48% of the voters, while Trump 46% of the voters.
On Sept. 10, the two candidates met in Pennsylvania in a televised debate that had more than 67 million views. A few quick polls released shortly after the debate showed that a majority of viewers thought Harris did better.
Most national polls since then show Harris slightly improved. That slight increase was largely due to the decline in Trump’s numbers. However, national polls do not always accurately predict the outcome of elections.
Recent polls show that the two candidates are separated by one percentage point or less in some states, including Pennsylvania, which is a key state.
