Cuba has formally applied to Russia to join BRICS, as that country currently chairs the organization.
“A corresponding letter has been sent to Russian Leader Vladimir Putin,” Carlos Pereira, the director-general of the General Division of Bilateral Affairs at the Cuban Ministry of Foreign Affairs, wrote on X.
Cuba has officially expressed its desire to join BRICS as a “partner country”.
