Over 100 people arrested during night protests in Tbilisi
The unrest in neighboring Georgia is not subsiding. During night demonstrations in Tbilisi, police arrested 107 individuals; 10 law enforcement officers were injured.
The detainees are accused of disobeying police orders, hooliganism, and committing administrative offenses.
“Throughout the night, protesters verbally and physically resisted police, throwing various objects, including stones, pyrotechnics, glass bottles, and metal items, at law enforcement officers. Ten officers were injured, one of whom remains in hospital with burns,” Georgia’s Ministry of Internal Affairs said in a statement.
To remind, protests have been taking place in Georgia for several days following the country’s prime minister’s announcement that discussions regarding EU membership would be suspended until 2028 and the country would decline budgetary grants.
