Ukrainian Parliament unanimously ratifies minerals deal with US
Members of Ukraine’s Verkhovna Rada have ratified the minerals deal between Ukraine and the United States.
A total of 338 deputies voted for, with no abstentions or votes against.
Recently, Ukraine and the U.S. signed an agreement strongly promoted by U.S. President Donald Trump, which will grant the United States privileged access to Ukrainian mineral transactions. The U.S. will also finance investments for Ukraine’s reconstruction.
The two countries signed the agreement in Washington after months of sometimes tense negotiations, during which uncertainty persisted until the last moment.
The agreement establishes a joint investment fund for Ukraine’s reconstruction. It plays a central role in Kyiv’s efforts to restore relations with Trump and the White House.
