EU ready to contribute to ‘Trump Route’ and ‘Crossroads of Peace’ initiative implementation

The European Union is ready to use its tools to support not only the “Trump Route” project but also the broader “Crossroads of Peace” initiative to promote regional connectivity, Armenpress reports.

Speaking to journalists in Armenia’s Syunik Province, EU Ambassador to Armenia Vassilis Maragos referred to the documents signed on Aug. 8 in Washington by Armenia, Azerbaijan, and the United States.

“The events and meetings held in Washington on Aug. 8 were welcomed by the European Union, and since that day we have expressed our readiness to support those initiatives and regional connectivity. We are ready to contribute our tools not only within the framework of the ‘Trump Route’ project but also in the overall context of the ‘Crossroads of Peace’ initiative, which the EU welcomed two years ago when the Armenian government first announced it,” Maragos said.

The ambassador added that the European Union consistently supports peace in the South Caucasus.

“We are very happy that peace is coming. Many details still need to be clarified, but we are here as a reliable partner of Armenia, the Armenian people, and the Armenian government to support you in this process,” Maragos noted.
