Iran threatens oil prices could surge to $200 amid new US strikes

Iranian military spokesperson Ebrahim Zolfaghari has said no agreement will be reached as long as the United States continues what he described as its “military adventures” in the region.

“The US government has repeatedly shown that it only understands the language of force. Prepare for oil prices to reach $200 per barrel,” Zolfaghari wrote on X.

Despite a ceasefire that came into effect in early April, the US Central Command said on Monday that it had carried out new strikes against Iran, claiming they were aimed at protecting American forces from “threats posed by Iranian forces.”
