Iran says enriched uranium issue not on US talks agenda, Ali Bagheri says

The issue of enriched uranium is not on the agenda of negotiations between Iran and the United States, Iran’s deputy secretary of the Supreme National Security Council, Ali Bagheri, has said, according to Tasnim.

He also stated that Iran and the US have not yet reached an agreement on reopening the Strait of Hormuz.

“Iran and Oman are negotiating a new mechanism for the passage of ships through the Strait of Hormuz,” Bagheri said.

He added that indirect contacts between Tehran and Washington are continuing, but stressed that the issue of enriched uranium is not part of the current agenda.

Bagheri is currently on an official visit to Russia.
