Beyoncé to donate $1M to Help earthquake victims in Colombia

Beyoncé will donate $1 million from her personal funds to help people affected by the earthquake in Colombia.

The funds will be used to provide food and essential supplies to the hardest-hit areas.

Earlier, Colombian newspaper El Tiempo reported that Shakira would finance the construction of 10 new educational institutions in Columbia’s western Chocó Department, which was severely affected by the earthquake.

A magnitude 7.4 earthquake struck near the city of San José del Palmar in the Chocó Department on Aug. 10. According to authorities, the disaster affected 15 departments across the country, killed more than 300 people and destroyed more than 31,000 homes.
