Canada threatens US with retaliatory measures

Canada will respond appropriately if U.S. President Donald Trump imposes import tariffs on Ottawa on March 4, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said.

“If tariffs are imposed on Tuesday, then, as we did last time, we are ready to respond strongly and appropriately,” Trudeau noted.

Last month, Canada’s prime minister stated that the country would take a firm stance against U.S. tariffs on steel and aluminum imports. He noted that Ottawa would protect Canadian employees and businesses.
