The U.S. has welcomed Kazakhstan’s proposal to host the foreign ministers of Armenia and Azerbaijan in Almaty on May 10 in order to advance talks on a peace treaty between the two countries. The representative of the U.S. Department of State said this in response to the Azerbaijani media.
“Almaty is an important and symbolic place. We have repeatedly stated that we are delighted by the progress achieved between Armenia and Azerbaijan so far, and we support the two countries to move toward a peace treaty for the benefit of the entire region,” the official noted.
