Moscow hopes EU mission won’t be used to draw Yerevan into Western geopolitical games, Zakharova says
Moscow hopes the Armenian authorities will not allow the new EU mission in the country to involve Yerevan in anti-Russian politics, Russian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Maria Zakharova has said.
“We hope that our Armenian allies and friends will not allow this new so-called mission to be used to interfere in their internal affairs and to drag Yerevan into Western geopolitical games that would imply the severing of friendly ties with our country and its involvement in Brussels’ anti-Russian policies,” Zakharova said during a press briefing.
She stated that the West is seeking to turn Armenia into its outpost, but that Yerevan should not expect real assistance from the EU.
