Peskov says Armenia should move closer to EU at its own expense, not at Russia’s or EAEU’S expense
As Armenia moves closer to the European Union, it will sooner or later find itself in a situation where its chosen position contradicts the norms of the Eurasian Economic Union, Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov told reporters, according to TASS.
According to him, Armenia should pursue closer ties with the European Union not at the expense of Russia and the EAEU, but at its own expense.
“Moving toward the European Union is Armenia’s absolute sovereign right, but Armenia cannot and should not do so at the expense of EAEU member states,” Peskov said.
He added that there are no uncertainties regarding Armenia’s movement toward the European Union, saying that everything is clear and transparent.
