US officials are discussing the possibility of deploying nuclear weapons in additional NATO countries in Europe. This would allow them to deploy aircraft capable of delivering nuclear strikes, the Financial Times, citing sources.

“American officials have expressed their readiness for additional deployments beyond the six countries that already have nuclear-capable bombers,” the publication states.

According to reporters, the discussions mainly concern the Baltic states and countries forming NATO’s eastern flank, including Poland.

Sources claim that countries bordering Russia have become particularly enthusiastic and active in negotiations regarding the possible deployment of nuclear weapons.
