Kobakhidze slams Kallas, calling her stance ‘absolutely shameful’

Georgian PM Irakli Kobakhidze has criticized remarks by EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Kaja Kallas. He described what he called the EU foreign policy chief’s refusal to recognize the will of the Georgian people and her opposition to it as “a very serious and shameful” development.

“If Russia does not recognize Georgia’s sovereignty over 20% of its territory, then Ms. Kaja Kallas does not recognize Georgia’s sovereignty over 100% of its territory. This is absolutely shameful,” Kobakhidze said.

Speaking to reporters in Brussels, Kallas said the European Union wants to support the Georgian people rather than the Georgian government.
