Lebanon and Israel agree in Rome talks to establish 2 pilot zones

Lebanon and Israel have reached an agreement during talks in Rome to establish two pilot zones in southern Lebanon as part of a bilateral settlement framework, Al Jazeera reports.

According to the report, one of the zones is currently under Israeli control, while the other is located adjacent to Israeli positions.

The proposed plan includes the withdrawal of Israeli forces, the deployment of the Lebanese army, and independent third-party monitoring of the agreement’s implementation.

At the same time, Lebanon has insisted that a clear timeline be established to extend the implementation of the agreement across the entire southern part of the country.
