Vardan Voskanyan: They should understand that Armenia has not surrendered and will not surrender under any circumstances; We have no right to be discouraged

Changes are very important, not only in terms of internal rhetoric, but also in terms of showing domestic positions to the enemy. Iranologist Vardan Voskanyan, participating in the Holy March, said this to ABC media.

“The enemy must understand that Armenia has not surrendered and will not surrender under any circumstances. The thoughts of the dictatorial administration in Baku that Armenia has capitulated and that Armenia will make all possible and impossible concessions are not true. Such movements show that there is no such thing. Thank God, the Republic of Armenia and the Armenian people have not surrendered and will not surrender to the enemy under any circumstances. Thus, political activism, especially under the leadership of the Armenian Apostolic Church, is extremely important, both for internal and external players. It is also important in a way that with this movement we are showing our position, especially to the enemy,” he said.

According to Voskanyan, the movement has a leader and that leader is an untarnished leader.

“We have no right to be discouraged; we will not change anything by being discouraged. Hope is very important, and that hope should be centered; all these people are waiting for that. As for the Almaty meeting to be held tomorrow, I don’t think we should have any expectations; it is obvious that the Azerbaijani side will not agree to peace and will again try to get everything from Armenia with coercion, force and threat. The goal of the barbaric regime of Baku is one: not to have a Republic of Armenia as a geopolitical factor; not to have a resistant, striving and strengthening Republic of Armenia. And I think that this so-called vision and perspective are unacceptable to us. Armenia must be a geopolitical factor, a factor dictating its will to the enemy, and steps need to be taken in that direction. This movement is only the beginning, but I think it is very important to set some principles for the future: the principle of justice, the principle of the coming to power of those who are worthy, and the principle of having a highly professional and experienced government. Only in that case will Armenia have a chance to develop. And most importantly, public solidarity will help us get out of this situation,” he concluded.
